Step 3. Take multiple choice exam offered twice a year. You can take the exam prior to completing portfolio.

Portfolio Project

This includes the following;

1. Write a Philosophy Statement 500 Words

2. Write a Management Narrative of a program or volunteer program

Philosophy Statement: Philosophy of Volunteerism Statement
Must express a personal commitment to volunteerism, volunteer administration and the profession. A view of the impact of volunteerism in today's world. Clear thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Management Narrative: A narrative is a written analysis of a successful program or project in which you were or are involved as a volunteer administrator. It must be:

· A rationale for actions, results and consequences
· An analytical description of strengths and weaknesses
· Sufficiently broad in scope to cover at least three of the five competencies:

1. Commitment to the Profession
2. Planning and Conceptual Design
3. Resource Development & Management
4. Accountability
5. Perspective and Responsiveness

The narrative has four parts:
Introduction
Description
Outcome and Results
Analysis

By completing the portfolio, this will demonstrate the knowledge and application skills required for competent volunteer resources which includes:

1. Commitment to the Profession

2. Planning and Conceptual Design

3. Resource Development and Management

4. Accountability

5. Perspective and Responsiveness
